Photographic circles have two basic schools of thought. The first one says that a photographer is an artist and thus should be allowed to create pictures as he likes. The second one considers that a photographer is paid by other people and companies so he should produce the expected results that are requested by those parties.

Most people who involve in professional photography want to control the quality of photos that they are taken. They involve in the darkroom as they want to control the quality from the beginning until the photos are handed over to the customers. They are many tricks that can be used in the darkroom to change the appearance of the final prints. In professional photography, people can remove loose hair and blemishes, which can increase the quality of the picture from the customer's point of view.

Some photographers insist that they should be allowed to show their artistic ability from the camera that they use. In addition, they also market their professional photography ability to make a living while maintaining their creativity. The needs for professional photography are increasing, especially for marketing uses, and many photographers are interested to gain benefits from it.

For example, advertisements for exotic vacation places always need professional photography involvement to make sure that those places look more tempting. Baby photographs are also always in demand as people want to keep their loved ones everywhere they go. In this case, it is up to the photographers to choose whether they want to make money from following these demands or they want to take photos only as they like.
